Tell us about your cath lab.
Hendricks Regional Health is a non-profit Magnet® hospital located in Danville, Indiana, serving the western suburban area of Indianapolis. In response to the demands of our growing community, we expanded cardiovascular services in 2005 to include a cath lab. Currently, we have one lab with ten pre- and post-procedure rooms.

Can you tell us about your cath lab?
Cox Health has five procedure labs. While all five labs have the ability to accommodate coronary interventions, we routinely schedule electrophysiology (EP) and peripheral vascular procedures in designated labs. We have 32 co-workers who staff the procedure rooms: Eleven registered nurses (RN), fourteen registered radiology technologists (RT[R]s) and seven surgical scrub technicians.

Crittenton Hospital Medical Center is a not-for-profit community hospital with 248 licensed beds. Crittenton is one of a few independent community hospitals left in Southeastern Michigan, with a strong commitment to providing service excellence and compassionate care at a community level. We have a strategic partnership with the University of Michigan for cardiothoracic surgical services.

Can you tell us about your cath lab?
The Wentworth Douglass Hospital Cardiovascular Lab has 2 interventional Artis Zee suites (Siemens Medical, Malvern, Pennsylvania) that perform both cardiac and peripheral procedures. We have 5 new private patient holding rooms, as well as a nursing charting station. In our lab, we have 14 staff members. There are 8 technologists and 6 nurses.

Tell us about your lab.
Rochester General Hospital has 4 angiography suites, 2 electrophysiology (EP) suites, and a 26-bed pre/post procedure area. Staff is a mix of registered nurses (RNs), radiologic technologists (RTs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) techs, and patient care technicians. We have 48 staff members, with many staff members having over 10 years of experience.

Florida Hospital is a 1,400-bed facility. We have 98 employees, comprised of registered nurses (RNs), registered cardiovascular invasive specialists (RCISs), registered radiologic technologists (RT[R]s), and registered respiratory therapists (RRTs), as well as dual-credential staff.

Can you tell us about your cath lab?
Lane Regional Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Center has one cath lab with a Toshiba Infinix (Tustin, Calif.) system and one 64-slice computed tomography (CT) room. Our program first began with a modular unit in January 2007 (supplied by Modular Devices, Inc. [MDI], Indianapolis, In.), and the new, permanent Cardiovascular Center opened in August 2008.

The Nacogdoches Medical Center cath lab facility has 1 room (we are a single lab), and we have 4 full-time and 4 part-time staff members. The mix of credentials at our lab consists of registered nurse (RN), radiologic technologist (RT), and licensed vocational nurse (LVN). These 8 staff members have experience ranging from one to 20 years.

Deborah Heart and Lung Center (DHLC) has a longstanding history of being a leader dedicated to cardiovascular care. Our cath facility consists of four labs: one biplane lab, one single-plane lab formerly used as a pediatric lab and now being renovated for dual use as a peripheral and coronary lab, and two single-plane adult labs.

Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is a 250-bed facility serving an eight-county region in middle Tennessee. Maury Regional Medical Center Outpatient Cardiology includes two cardiac cath labs, both of which are capable of performing radiologic procedures and implantable rhythm management devices. The lab also includes a 5-bed holding area located within the department.
