The Emerald Coast Chapter of the SICP held a meeting in Pensacola, Florida on November 28, 2007. Dr. AlSheikh and Dr. Neilson spoke on atrial fibrillation therapies in the electrophysiology lab and in the OR. The meeting was well attended by over 45 cardiovascular professionals. The Emerald Coast Chapter would like to thank our speakers who gave a great talk and donated their time. We would also like to thank our corporate sponsor, Shelby Dukes of St. Jude. The Gulf Coast Chapter of the SICP (GCSICP) completed its 3rd Annual Bowling Tournament on December 1st at Times Square Entertainment Center in Katy, TX.
Over 200 people participated in this year’s event, with an initial total of 36 lanes being used for the tournament. This annual event not only provided a CEU for attendees during lunch, but also provided fun and an opportunity to network with peers in the industry as well as make new friends from the various cardiac cath labs in the Houston area. Nineteen cath labs from the greater Houston area were represented.
This event would not have been possible or as successful without all of the vendor support and assistance. The Gulf Coast Chapter Board Members would like to gratefully thank all the sponsors for their attendance and support, not only of this event but also events of the Gulf Coast Chapter over the last few years.

The CE was sponsored by Schering-Plough (Integrilin) and provided by Dr. Eduardo Hernandez. Dr. Hernandez did a wonderful job presenting, even though he had to spend a few minutes getting the projector to work and deal with a difficult microphone. The first place team, The Disorderly Dysrhythmias from Spring Branch Medical Center, won an AED from the Texas Arrhythmia Institute to donate to a local school or charity of their choice. There were regular raffle drawings throughout the day, with prizes ranging from BBQ grills to computers, TVs, iPods, and even a flat-panel HD TV. Again, without the sponsorship and participation from our vendors, this event would not be possible

A list of our registered vendors who sponsored the event:
Schering-Plough (Integrilin) MediCure Pharma Possis Abbott Vascular Sanofi-Aventis (Lovenox) Zoll-Lifecor EV3-Foxhollow Boston-Scientific WL Gore Cordis Medtronic
