    We had a 4-day surprise inspection for the hospital and our angio/cath lab the end of January. We certainly did not expect it so soon in the year. The following are some of the "biggies" that inspectors really went over with a fine-tooth comb:

    Abbott announced the first clinical results for its investigational ZoMaxx Drug-Eluting Coronary Stent System.     St. Jude Medical, Inc. announced U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval and launch of its next generation vascular closure device, the Angio-Seal VIP. The new device is approved for both diagnostic and interventional procedures. The Angio-Seal VIP provides more coverage on the artery surface than previous devices and utilizes a coated suture.
