A vast amount of clinical data has uncovered the limitations of using angiography alone for the optimization of PCI procedures and the benefits of using Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) in terms of improving clinical outcomes.

In this CEU program moderated by two experts in the field of intra-vascular imaging, Dr. Massoud Leesar from the University of Alabama and Dr. Ziad Ali from Columbia University, you will learn more about the limitations of angiography and the benefits of IVUS in the PCI setting.

In addition to a review of the clinical data, you will learn more about the concept of optimal stent expansion. You will also be provided with practical tools such as a simple PCI optimization protocol, using IVUS to help optimizing stent expansion.

A new technology is presented, called High Definition IVUS, which provides a better image quality over traditional IVUS and improved workflow features, like superfast pullback and a touchpanel interface. Several case examples are presented demonstrating how HD-IVUS can be used in the setting of complex PCI and how it compares to other imaging modalities.
