This day-long seminar is geared towards those professionals who are new to the cath lab or those looking for a basic refresher course. I was impressed by the attendees’ great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. One professional remarked on his experience that day with some simple truths: The food was good. And I learned things that I didn’t know or didn’t understand before. This month, CLD also offers some very satisfactory food for thought: Harvard Business School researchers studied how teams can shorten their learning curve on a new procedure. Researcher Amy Edmondson shares some steps to take on the path to achieving teamhood. The CLD Email Discussion Group talks about how staff schedule multiple rooms, levels of surgical backup for interventions, and how lab management is organized. The Cath Lab Spotlight on Holy Family Memorial shares a cath lab blueprint and their concept of Lunch & Learn. Drs. Matt Reynolds and Donald Cutlip share a case report on subacute stent thrombosis and discuss specific methods to lessen the risk of its occurence. Enjoy!
